Líneas de Investigación

Mi investigación se centra en entender la arquitectura genética de características complejas y cómo estas varían entre individuos, tanto dentro de una población como entre poblaciones. Esta comprensión nos permite identificar los factores genéticos y ambientales que influyen en la expresión de rasgos complejos y su variación, lo que puede tener implicaciones significativas en diversas áreas del conocimiento. En colaboración con grupos de investigación nacionales e internacionales, buscamos descubrir patrones y mecanismos subyacentes que puedan explicar la variabilidad fenotípica y su impacto en la adaptación de los organismos a sus entornos cambiantes.

Mi proyecto principal de investigación (en curso) examina las interacciones entre el genotipo y el ambiente, centrándose en la diversidad de la producción y calidad de compuestos bioactivos foliares, mediante tecnologías multiómicas. Este enfoque nos permite identificar genes candidatos asociados a características complejas, y desarrollar estrategias de mejoramiento selectivo que maximicen la productividad y sustentabilidad de los recursos naturales. Al mejorar la calidad y el valor de los compuestos bioactivos, así como otros rasgos de interés, se potencian las aplicaciones prácticas en campos como la medicina, la nutrición y la biotecnología, brindando beneficios significativos para la sociedad en su conjunto.
